I was pleasantly surprised at the wide variety of ingredients that could be put in spring rolls. Even a couple using Southwest ingredients. We live here in the Southwest. The one that I think could become my favorite will the last one using banana or others using fruit.

I like spring rolls and egg rolls and have recipes that I use for both. Having some extra wrappers around and finding this book, I have been on a tear. I made the Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls with Shrimp a couple of days ago, and am still getting rave reviews. They were simple, although I am still learning how to use the delicate wrappers after soaking them for maybe 16 seconds. I have cheated and used two wrapper, nobody noticed. it is well worth the time to get the fresh herbs to complete any of these. All herbs are available in my local grocery store..Top 50 Most Delicious Spring Roll Recipes (Egg rolls - Egg roll recipes) by Julie Hatfield, has taken spring rolls and egg roles into a new world in my mind. These do not have to be just Asian varieties.The Lemon Grass and Chicken Spring rolls pop with the use of minced lemon grass. The ingredients so far come from the local market. Recipes are from 4-6 serving, some 16-50 rolls, so need to be adjusted accordingly, although these are more addictive that potato chips. Obviously this can be for yourself and a few friends, or a dinner party or buffet, where your dishes will stand out. So many people love spring rolls and egg rolls, but how many people do you know that can just turn them out on a dime?Fried Crispy Spring Rolls with chicken with pork AND a Vietnamese dipping sauce. There are detailed directions, nothing cryptic here and easily modified to your own tastes. Turkey, chicken, pork, shrimp, halibut, salmon and a wide range of vegetables. Sprouts, mushroom, jicama, Some using oriental noodles, inexpensive and add to the "body".Southwestern, American and Oriental flavors and recipes. Crispy duck with BBQ sauce. Bacon, lettuce and tomato. Some seemingly obvious combinations of items, but not when you think of Spring Rolls or Egg Rolls. The Spring Roll wrapper becomes a delivery method for a range of flavors and textures. The book offers a tremendous range of possibilities.Vegetarian runs the gamut with Chinese cabbage and water chestnuts, mushroom, bell peppers, peach, tofu, grilled asparagus, you name it and there is a wide variety of sauces. You don't need to be a vegetarian to enjoy these recipes.The take-away here, is the book takes the cook outside what most of us would probably think about when someone mentions spring rolls or egg rolls. This book opens up the possibilities to every kind of food and ingredients. The recipes are not only great in themselves, but they point to being as creative as you might want to do. They can be modified by shopping specifically for a recipe or cooking with what you have on hand. The emphasis always, is using fresh ingredients.What I like is having the wrappers on hand, I would not have through that way before this book. There are quite a few in a package and they keep for the longest time. Given the range of ideas, there is a quick meal or snack within minutes. The question only becomes what do you want in your spring roll or egg roll?What once was only an occasional delectable when in a restaurant, or something to plan on for a meal and the special effort needed to get there, is now become 2nd nature for me, thanks to Julie Hatfield. I am obviously now addicted to looking at everything and asking myself if I can add it to my next adventure. In the meantime, there are some solid recipes here and I can be eating in minutes, or serving my guests. I can share in the joy of making my own home made, fresh and often very unique spring and egg rolls. Thank you Julie!.

I loved this book, I have read this book twice. There are no pictures however, the descriptions are very well written where you know what you should have for the end result. I didn't realize there were so many combinations for making spring rolls. The ingredients for the most part are ingredients that I normally have in my kitchen. The content page is hyperlinked so it is easy to move from location to location. Recipes very easy to follow. I think this would be best for the moderate to advanced chef only because of the skill required to make a spring roll. Highly recommended.

Simple,quick,and delicious recripes . Great flavors, wonderfully appealing.Fun to make and great for family friend's, whether for a party or just to enjoy.

This book has a lot of great recipes. Normally i prefer books with pictures, but this is a good book without. I reccomend it for anyone who would like to learn the art of spring rolls.

This is really a good book if you're new to Spring Rolls. It's also a great jumping off point for customizing these rolls and making them your own. I really like it.

A compendium of delicious, and in some cases unusual flavor combinations. Instructive, beautifully illustrated, and well written. I look forward to preparing these delectable little gems.
