About the Author

Gerald Fadayomi leads the High School ministry (InsideOut) at Browns Bridge Church, a North Point Ministries church in Cumming, Georgia. His passion for the next generation is displayed through his communicating and writing, but is best seen when he is hanging with a group of students at a Friday night football game or a Friday morning FCA. His hope is to inspire the next generation to love God and influence their peers by living life counter-cultural. He is an Atlanta native and loves doing life and ministry with his wife, Kiley Fadayomi.

After serving in student ministry for years, and realizing the need for a great faith resource for students getting ready for college, along comes “Before You Go.” Fadayomi uses great story-telling, letters from actual college students and as he says “a cliff note concept” to share the 10 important things to know before you head off to school. He challenges and stretch’s students with the goal of helping them grow their faith, find community and build a new relationship with the Father. A must read for High school seniors!

1. Easy ReadGerald not only tells an amazing story, but he leaves the reader with some real tangible nuggets. There's no "fluff" here . . straight to the point.2. Highly ImpactfulAside from his references to LeBron James, Super Nintendos, Pandora and a couple others, there is no question this book will be timeless. It's right at the heart of what every high schooler experiences currently, what every adolescent experienced in past generations and what every adolescent will experience in coming generations.You will not be disappointed and neither will the students you "gift" this to.

As someone who works with high school students, I was excited about the release of this book, and after reading it, I'm even more excited. I can't wait to offer a small group session with my seniors to talk through the ten things that Gerald outlines in his book to help students continue to grow in their faith after college. I found helpful the format of the book, particularly with starting off getting real life advice from students in college. I think this will help current seniors appreciate the subject matter more. Gerald's explanation of the themes give practical and helpful advice to seniors to continue and grow their faith into college, and the questions at the end of each chapter work as an individual journal piece or as a springboard for group discussion. Just this past weekend at retreat, one of the seniors in my group stated how they wanted to be able to grow in their faith in college, and I can't wait to walk through this study with them so that they have the tools they need to continue pursuing Jesus.

I lead senior girls at the church I work at and have been walking through this book with one of them for a few weeks now. It has lead to good discussions about things she will face at school next year and offers great practical tips to help students take steps on their own for ensuring that they make their faith their own throughout the transition into college. She loves that every chapter begins with a letter from a different student who has recently gone through the things she is about to face, and offers unique advice from their different experiences. We like it so much I bought a copy for all of my seniors for Christmas! Great discipleship tool for graduates, but don't wait til graduation to give it to them! They can start using it now to prepare!

I’ve been walking with the same group of girls for 5 years and they’re seniors now! We’ve covered so many books and topics! They loved the first chapter! These questions and this chapter was one of the most captivating and authentic conversations we’ve had in awhile! This book came out at just the right time!!

Practical, practical, practical. This is the book you’ve been looking for. I’ve been doing student ministry for over 10 years and have always felt seniors don’t get enough attention. I can’t reccomend this enough. From parents of students to high school seniors and beyond, this book will set your students up for success in the next chapter of their lives. Excellent and easy to read - even for the student who hates reading!

Gerald has done a great job of tapping into the needs of college freshman. The letters from recent freshmen mixed with Godly wisdom Gerald has learned through his own story, as well as leading students, offer realistic steps students can take to get connected at school and grow in their faith. Well done Gerald!!

This book is so helpful! There are few people who have the passion and giftedness to communicate to students like Gerald Fadyomi. That combination is so evident in the pages of this book! I give it to all high school seniors I know. I wish I would have had this book when I was about to go off to school!
